    The Ugly Truth

4 leave a comment (no login required)

The trailer was good due to tons of catchy jokes but ... it turned out to be a simple show with a slow and boring beginning. Story was very much aimless or maybe a typical boy meets girl and then falls in love kinda thing. Things started to pick up in the middle with predictable story line and ended with a sweet and simple ending. Haiz! What can I say?

Funny thing ahXin said it was ok. hmmm. Weird. Maybe she didn't understand the show.

    4/10 for this flick.

I'll still prefer 2003 'Love Actually'.

    Jack Neo: Where Got Ghost?

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Filled with jokes only a local can enjoy. Can't possibly say it's better than Money No Enough due to the simple minded short stories. So there goes 1 point down.

But I'm sure you'll enjoy the twist in the story.

A 3 part mini short story featuring the usual clowns of Money No Enough, Mark Lee, Henry Thia, Jack Neo and the common Gangsters **cos I dun know their name ;) Let's just leave it as the 'Common Gansters'.

    7/10

    One word: Fantastic!!!

    Two Words: Lagi Fantastic!!! X"P

As always, Ah Xin came along. CJ again. What's new =P

Movie began with an intro I knew will end in tears. And true enough. Without any ...... just plain instrumental music, it reflected on a little boy's innocent and wonderful childhood, getting to know a soul mate and eventually getting married. Life went on till their golden age. And as all will say, "all good things must come to an end."

Classic humour. And it's definitely a must watch for all. ;)

    Easily an 8.5/10

G.I. Joe: Revenge of the Cobra

Worst Movie Ever!!! It's better left alone as a cartoon.

Minimal damage to key installations and story was boring as hell.

    I would compare this with
Steven Seagal's Underseige. Scene with a speeding train with F117A's trailing behind, with laser beams zapping all over the place. It not only took the stealth planes out, and various countries as well. Making the excitement grow with each and every ransom demand made. Considering the fact that it was a low budgeted movie with tons of screen play instead of real damage done. It was enough to build the story up. Together with Steven's fighting, it was easily rated as 6.5/10.

Well in the case of G.I. Joe, The only thing that caught my eye was the Eiffle Tower toppling and that's about it. The overall chase...... was disappointing. Humour was a bit lame.

Maybe this isn't my kind of movie. I rate 4/10. The rest is your call. ;P

Would not have thought when they said 3D... it was actually 3D.... Like Duh! No idea why I kept thinking it was Digital. So used to Shaw Theatre's Digital effect. Anyway, we were given those 3D glasses. So no discounts on the tickets even tho it's a weekday. Take note to all. But it was a nice touch. Everything was so popping out of the sceen. HAhahh! Nice!

Definitely a must watch. It's gonna be a hilarious ride from start to end. Enjoy!

    Easily a 8.5/10.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince.

    More like Half Cooked Movie........

Not really a fan of this novel. But when it comes to movies and magic, I'm all in. Well those who have read the book have said that this movie was terrible. Not until I watched it. It was okay. A bit draggy with tons of talking. The love potion segment was not necessary. That could have been the reason to make it more laughable.

Ending was a little bit dead. One will have thought that there could be more. But then again, they were probably preparing the juicy part for the next movie. Brace yourselves.

Overall, I like the feel, touch n treatment to the colours of the entire footage. It is so my kind. Will give a 6/10.

    Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

2 leave a comment (no login required)
    Finally got to watch it.

The part that caught my attention was definitely the sinking of those super hot Aircraft Carriers. It really sank like Titanic man. Hahahahh! But you can't entirely blame Titanic. Kate Winslet was on board. And boy was she huge then. Like Titanic, with those passengers hanging on to the ship's rotors, this time is different, the bad ass decepticon was hanging on to the rotors with style....... ;P

Anyway, story was a bit aimless. Wasn't that strong. And the robots were like all over the place. I kinda like the fight scene in the forest. Fantastic display by Optimus. It could have been longer with Ironhide joining in. That is one hell of a power packed fellow with an attitude man. ;)

It's true that all the autobots at some point did disappear..... They could very well be all making out with Megan Fox. Ever wonder where were they when Optimus was being pounded in the forest?

It was also obvious that all the extra decepticons were all over the place playing around. What were they actually doing? Reminded me so much of the spoiler in Braveheart. Where at one point in one of the major battles, you could actually see fighters goofing around. Such spoilers.

Devastator which originated from the Constructicons was supposed to be an enormous robot but somehow got distorted in the movie. It ended up looking like a sand eating Dog.... what the hell. =S

And best part is that the Twins could fight that Big Dog.

And what's up with Bay? Even the remote control car was humping Megan. =X
Isn't this movie supposed to be meant for kids as well.

    I give......
    2/5 for the story
    3.5/5 for the robots
    4/5 for animation
    overall abt 3/5

I'll describe this movie to be a mindless one. I still prefer the 1st movie.

    Monsters vs. Aliens

3 leave a comment (no login required)

It's finally about time I start looking for a belt for my riding. ;) And just as I went to tamp, I thought I saw a Puma one.. Not bad man! Locked and focused. Then off to NTUC for some Wasabi Chips. bought 4 packs.......and then kena tekaned by X again. Action only...... this person.

Went by to CJ again ..... what's new and I think I'm starting to like the CJ's signature roasted pork. Will have to slow down on the duck for awhile. Will still need the sour plum sauce for an extra kick tho. Then came a call from Ah Xuan. As always will chio me out at the last minute. He prob thinks I'm some kinda prostitute. When exclaimed, suddenly I heard a LOL. Wah lau, from a straight face, I also ended up LOL. Unbelievable! =X

And then back to the movies. Monsters vs. Aliens this time. And now lets see who's the biggest clown. Double checked on the sitting locations just outside the theatre. Was obvious the left side was the Theatre 5. But Nooooo~ Some joker. I don't know who....... but I'm sure you might guessed it...... went to the right side instead. Ended up in Theatre 6. with a half screening of Night at the Museum 2. Power! LOL~

LoL!!!! Finally managed to enjoy the show. As always DreamWorks has done it again with those super realistic hair strands on their animations. LiS *heehee*..... Everything.....everthing looks so real. In terms of humour, i still prefer Monsters Inc. but this is definitely a good watch. Jello part was a real killer. HAhahahah! 7.5/10

And thanks to Kim, everything had to be cut short. Prediction of a certain flooding at T2.

    Terminator Salvation

2 leave a comment (no login required)

As usual, predicted and it came true. Ate till we lost track of time to get Sing $ tickets. Tsk!

Was supposed to wack Imperial Treasure with X, but ended up at the Moon instead. Can't help it. The sukiyaki is just to good to miss.

Then I taught a thing or two abt the potential of a D40 to this Canon/Nikon user. Simple stuff nothing fancy =P Forgive me Canon fans.

Then it was about time to hit Terminator Salvation. Heard from Damian it was a good show. Said it was 8/10 with 2 hours of non stop action. And as always, I have to take it with a pinch of salt.

It was definitely a reasonably good show with Batman's Christian Bale and Sam Worthington with cameo appearance, Arnold Schwarzenegger. HA! I just screwed it. ;P
I say it's good for just 7/10. The CGI was reasonably good. But for some reason, I felt the scope of view was a little to tight. Bah!

    Nice wallpapers. I Like!

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Missed out on the 1st movie. And thought hey why not try this one out. Not totally a fan of Ben Stiller. But there were some parts in the trailer that caught my attention. So yeah! Some interesting cameo appearance.... and I won't blow the whistle. Would be great if they featured more of that character tho. Haiseh! Typically a family movie. 6/10.

Makan at the usual CJ and X just reminded that we forgot to buy the Sing $ ticks. Dope!!

Uninvited: A Tale of Two Sisters

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Met up with X2 for dinner with roasted pork noodles as my selection, got my transparent Lamy pen (swopped from Metal to Plastic at the last min). Could not buy 'envelope' passport holder as shop was closed. Bummer.... then off to the 'Uninvited' movie. Nearly gave a miss on this movie. ;P

A fantastic story line. Right thru to the middle of the movie, it was all down to revenge. But it was not easy to predict the ending. A definite must watch for all who enjoy a mix of horror cum suspense. A remake of the Korean movie, A Tale of Two Sisters titled Uninvited starring Emily Browning as Anna and Arielle Kebbel as Alex as two sisters stuck in a dilemma trying to warn their father that the nanny isn't what he think she is. 8.5/10

    Star Trek

0 leave a comment (no login required)

After getting a deadly shot of International. I nearly made another rash decision on Traitor and good thing I went thru the trailer on GV's webby. I was definitely gonna give it a miss and hit Star Trek instead. Indeed a wise move. Best part grape's victim didn't say a word until I brought it up.

Completed some paper work at the office then rushed off to meet up with the victim. Wacked on some Chicken Ramen at Sakae, then off for the show. What can I say about the show? It was Fantastic. Totally Fantastic. The view of the universe is simply beautiful. With all its advanced graphics. You will not fall asleep on this one. You seriously do not wanna miss this show. 8/10.

Will wanna watch it again ;)

The International: Clive Owen & Naomi Watts

0 leave a comment (no login required)

By far the worst show ever. Caught up with X2 and grabbed some sukiyaki this time. No mistakes about it. And headed for this title. Cos her friend said it was good. If not I would have swopped it to Traitor. Good thing it was free. (courtesy of my cousin: Tim)

Clive is better off just driving his Z4 and speak as little as possible please. I'm quite surprised that Transporter: Jason Statham could act better.
The story begins with a horror story like approach, total silence with just 2 man chatting in the car. Gave the impression that something was just about to happen. And prematurely, it ended with one man walking out. It was just a simple conversation. Coming from a stand point as the trailers shows, action was seen. But you will be utterly disappointed to know that action only took up a mere 10% of the show. The rest was just the story itself. Very draggy at the beginning, and the mid section. Overall. 3/10. Don't even get the DVD.

(to give a Comparison of a good show would be, The Others: Nicole Kidman 9/10, American Ganster: Denzel Washington 8/10, Lake House: Keanu Reeves 8/10)

The only thing I like about it was the location of the gun fight. The Gallery has an interesting concept as seen in this poster.

Lucky for some Unlucky for some

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Thought I wore a wrong colour today assuming that it was gonna be blistering hot. Thought wrong ;) It was wonderfully cool thru out the day. Went to church for awhile then caught up with X2 and went for some makan at Moon with Sun, order the wrong dish cos of a blunder with the menu. Terok man ;P Waitress was nice to help. And as always X2 was laughing away on the blunder ;/

Then it was the remake of the classic horror flick: Friday the 13th in Lido. Seriously, this Dude needs to Smile more. He really needs to meet the Joker! And one more thing I noted too, Jason usually walks after his victims and mysteriously ending up way ahead of his victims for the kill. Amazing how walking can be faster than running. But this time round, he actually runs. For a change at least. ;)

Dinner was simple and nice at Old Town. Prawn mee was real good. And for some reason, again someone was LoLing all the way. Long story short. Had to be the order sheet. =P

    I need a butler. Period!

    Taken starring Liam Neeson

0 leave a comment (no login required)
Went back to the office for a short n brief meeting and caught up with X2 again for makan and Taken. Fantastic show. Reminded me of Ransom but with a more direct hit. Simple story but nasty outcome for the prostitution syndicate in Paris. The fight scene was nice but still uncomparable to Jason Bourne's killer moves.

    Pimp Muh Ride!!!

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Decided to take my Mk2 for a tiny shoot as I headed to tampines. Got some shots that could look a little like Lomo. ;) It's nice to see the sky in the twilight hours. All the calmness.

Then had a super filling Thai Express at the new mall (what's it called?) and followed by a FF4 show with X2. Rides were fantastic I must say. Miss out Part 3 cos it seemed rather out of point in Tokyo. Nonetheless Part 4 was as good as the original Part 1 only with more CGI.

Thought you may like to know, there're tons of good shows coming up. Next one Taken: starring Liam Neeson

    Unborn goes for Half Price

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Caught up with X2 for Unborn. Dammit man, we should have just paid half price for this show. Half our eyes were closed. The M&Ms did its job to a certain point, crumpling the packet managed to mask the sound effects. Definitely saved the day.

And it just struck me about this poster: that the boy in the mirror should be holding a camera since he's taking this photo. Or are they trying to imply that the viewers are as pesky as the boy in the mirror. ;P

K, I'm going to make this poster a tiny bit smaller. It's scaring the crap outta me when I'm viewing my own blog.

To Be or Not To Be a Millionaire ???

0 leave a comment (no login required)

Really thought I'll be missing on this one. Heard so much about it but time was not on my side. Good thing I finally caught up with it after double X came back from Bali.

The story line was reasonably good. But what took me away was the treatment of the film colour tones. It's just my thing. Lup it Deep Deep! And a glimpse into slums. A place that we probably will not want to go. But the sight can really make one appreciate the simple things in life.

Now lets hope this kid doesn't turn out to be another one hit wonder like Macaulay Culkin.

Come to think of it, he look a bit like Shia LaBeouf.

    Totally a Classic Pose!!!

Some Bling Bling for your eyes. Pity they didn't put any Crystals on these cars. =P

    Enjoy!!!
